Rockstar Games recently added the LSCM Cheetah Classic to GTA Online, but instead of excitement, the release has triggered frustration across the community. Players are calling it a “scam,” and here's why this flashy supercar may not be worth your in-game cash.
What Is the LSCM Cheetah Classic?
The LSCM Cheetah Classic is a modified version of the original Cheetah Classic supercar. It comes with a widebody kit, a few distinct design tweaks like a new rear bumper, exhaust setup, and spoiler, and it costs close to $2 million in-game. That’s a full $1.1 million more than the original Cheetah Classic, raising immediate questions about its value.
Why Players Feel Ripped Off
1. Minimal Customization Options
One of the biggest complaints is the complete lack of customization. Unlike the standard Cheetah Classic, the LSCM version doesn’t allow you to change parts like the hood, spoilers, or bumpers. You're stuck with the default look — the only changes you can make are removing the preset livery or changing the color. In a game where vehicle customization is a core feature, this feels like a major downgrade.
2. Expensive, but Hardly Better
For over a million dollars more, you'd expect better performance — but that’s not the case. While the LSCM Cheetah Classic is slightly faster than the base model, the improvement is barely noticeable. The only functional bonus is a built-in lock-on jammer, which usually costs around $400,000. That still doesn’t explain the extra $700,000+ markup.
3. Inconsistent Upgrade System
In the past, cars like the Jester RR allowed players to upgrade from the base model into widebody versions via Benny’s workshop. But the LSCM Cheetah Classic skips that route entirely — it’s sold as a separate car, with no option to upgrade your existing Cheetah Classic. This inconsistency has left players confused and disappointed, especially those who expected a seamless upgrade system.
4. Limited Visual Options
To make matters worse, the car only offers one livery. Other vehicles typically come with several livery and mod options to let players personalize their rides. The lack of choices here makes the car feel bland and overpriced.
Community Backlash
Many in the GTA Online community feel this release represents a step backwards. Rockstar has been accused of focusing more on monetization than player satisfaction. Players who want to explore more without overspending often buy cheap GTA 5 modded accounts to get started. For nearly $2 million, players expected either solid performance upgrades or deep customization — ideally both. What they got instead is a high-priced car with little to offer beyond visuals you can’t even change.
If you're thinking about buying the LSCM Cheetah Classic, it may be smarter to save your money. With its limited customization, underwhelming performance, and sky-high price tag, this car fails to deliver value. Unless Rockstar makes changes, this release stands as a cautionary tale about style over substance in GTA Online.
For now, steer clear unless you’re a collector — and even then, prepare to be disappointed.
